Maison Marquet

A house of two wings

Great work deserves
great presentation.

Maison Marquet is the house behind seventeen years of brand strategy, public relations, and design. One wing builds businesses that are read correctly. The other builds women who are. Everything here comes from one person, which is the point.

Directory

The Studio, rooms one through four. Brand, PR, and design for founders whose work is better than it looks.

The Edit, rooms five through eight. Style, presence, home, and taste.

The thinking

The Quiet Read Between

The framework behind the business wing, and a book in progress. There is a gap in most companies between how good the work is and how good it looks, and that gap is almost never a design problem. It is a language problem handed to a designer.

The Style Presence Index

The same five signals applied to a person rather than a company. Most accomplished women are considerably more impressive than they look, and they have been told the answer is confidence. Confidence is a result, not a cause.

Wing one

The Studio

Brand strategy, public relations, and design for founders and companies past the beginning. Entry through the Considered Presence Index. Letter: Reading Between, every two weeks.

I

One Quiet Morning

The studio

Boutique PR, brand, and design where the strategy and the execution come from the same person. Not an agency. A practice, and a deliberately small one.

Enter

Positioning and messaging, brand identity, website design and build, press and earned media. Two questions get answered before anything is written: what this is, and who it is not for.

Projects and monthly retainersBy inquiry, inbound only
II

The Tenure

Fractional CMO

Senior marketing leadership for fashion, beauty, and wellness brands, sold by the month. The Tenure decides; the studio builds. Two clients at a time.

Enter

Begins with the Considered Presence Index: twelve questions, four positions, and a written read of which one you are currently occupying.

The Read, a session and written brief The Intensive, a half day and a roadmap Fractional CMO, monthly, two clients at a time
III

One Quiet Hour

The shop

Tools for people building something without a budget for a studio. Templates, kits, and workbooks that do in an hour what would otherwise wait a year.

Enter

On Gumroad, Etsy, Creative Market, and Payhip. The Brand Messaging Workbook, the PR Kit, the Quiet Luxury Brand Suite, and The Signal, a written diagnostic returned in five business days.

IV

FemFounder

The publication

Editorial for women running companies past the startup stage, where decisions start to matter more than effort. Published deliberately, and not built for clicks.

Enter

Long-form essays, category features, and a founder interview series. No pay-for-play, no scripted endorsements, and editorial control stays in-house, which is what makes the yes worth anything.

Wing two

The Edit

Style, presence, home, and taste, for women whose presentation has not kept pace with their substance. Entry through the Style Presence Index. Letter and podcast: In Good Light.

Style and identity

The front door of this wing, and the home of the Style Presence Index. Style treated as infrastructure rather than decoration, because how you are read is a business input.

Enter

The quiz, the seasonal magazine issues, the archetype guides, and The Presence Read: a written diagnostic of how you actually come across, returned in five business days.

Prosecco and Pilates Opening soon

The lifestyle rooms

The unserious half of a serious house. Style, wellness, travel, and the parts of a well-run life that are supposed to be fun, written the way they are actually discussed.

Opening this year with the first seasonal edit. Join a letter and you will hear when the doors open.

The Spritz List Opening soon

Roundups and gifting

Shoppable edits and gift guides, read like a magazine rather than a search result. Every guide carries something affordable and something extravagant, because most lists lie about that.

Opening ahead of the gifting season. Brand submissions considered from now.

The Marquet

Home and interiors

Rooms, objects, and the long argument that a house should look like the person living in it. Organized in seasonal volumes rather than an endless feed.

The letters

Every two weeks

Reading Between

A letter on the gap between how good your work is and how good it looks. Positioning, language, and the decisions that make a business legible to the people who need to find it.

Two letters a month. Unsubscribe in one click.

Fortnightly, and a podcast

In Good Light

The other half. Presence, style, home, and the small deliberate decisions that make a woman read the way she intends to. Written, and spoken, by the same person who writes everything else here.

Two letters a month, plus new episodes. Unsubscribe in one click.

The library

Books

Two published, two in progress. The frameworks that run the house, written out at length.

In collaboration

The Dual Edit

A hosting guide made with Chef Via Melissa, built on the argument that culture and cuisine are the same subject approached from two directions. It belongs to neither wing, which is why it sits at the end of the hall.

The opening

An open house, one room a day.

The house opens room by room rather than all at once, because a house shown all at once is a showroom. Two rooms remain closed for now, and they will open with the season. Subscribe to either letter and you will be told which door is next.

The house is one person

Kristin Marquet

Seventeen years in brand strategy, public relations, and design, across more than five hundred brands, over a hundred of them in luxury and fashion. Fifty digital magazine covers secured for clients, twenty-five websites built, and two books published on publicity with two more in progress on the frameworks that run this house.

The two wings are not two careers. How a business is read and how a woman is read run on the same machinery: clarity, cohesion, considered detail, proof, and presence. I spent the first half of my career applying that to companies, and the second half discovering it applied just as precisely to the person standing in front of them. The Studio does the former. The Edit does the latter. Neither is a side project.

Everything here is written, designed, and built by me, which is a deliberate constraint rather than a stage I have not grown out of. Based in New York. MS from New York University, certificate in artificial intelligence and machine learning from MIT.
